All locations on Earth that are north of the equator are in​ the Northern Hemisphere. This includes all of North America and Europe along with most of Asia, northern South America, and northern Africa. All points on Earth that are south of the equator are in the Southern Hemisphere.

However, you might notice that Google has blurred some houses on Street View. You aren't having network issues. Instead, whoever lives there likely asked Google to do this for privacy concerns. If you want to do the same, here's how to blur your house on Google Maps.

North, South, East, and West are the four main "cardinal" directions. On a map, North is at the top, South at the bottom, West to the left, and East to the right. Every map has a Map Scale which relates distance on the map to the world.

In the search bar, enter a destination or tap it on the map. Follow the on-screen instructions to help Maps find your location. Tip: Point your phone camera at buildings and signs across the street, instead of trees and people. Once Maps knows where you are, you'll get directions through the camera view on your screen.
